It is natural for disagreements to occur in everyday life. Misunderstandings or differences of opinions can quickly lead to a heated debate and potential conflict. Unfortunately, police in Louisiana claim that a recent dispute between two men led to a shooting. One of the men, who is likely now preparing his criminal defense, was arrested.

The incident happened one afternoon on a day in mid-March. According to police, the alleged victim met with a 22-year-old man. The victim was reportedly attempting to buy drugs from the man now facing criminal charges.

However, reports claim that the two became involved in an argument, and that the victim was shot in the thigh. He was driven to the hospital by a friend. The other man was arrested and charged with attempted first-degree murder and is being held on $500,000 bond.

The average person in Louisiana likely has little experience creating a criminal defense in response the charges related to attempted murder. Because decisions made after criminal charges are filed will have a significant impact on the outcome of a case, some people feel overwhelmed, unsure whether they should attempt to fight the charges in court or accept a plea deal — if offered — that would exchange a guilty plea for a reduced charge or sentence. To help ensure that they are fully prepared to make informed decision about the direction their cases will follow, many choose to hire an experienced attorney to help guide them through the process; with such assistance, defendants can feel more prepared for the criminal justice process and experience less stress as they know there is someone willing to look out for their best interests.
