Electronics have revolutionized how people work and protect themselves. For example, surveillance cameras can help provide security for businesses and neighborhoods. However, the footage obtained from these cameras is not always the best quality, often making it difficult to accurately identify a person seen on footage. Despite this potential uncertainty, a teenager in Louisiana is left preparing criminal defense after he was charged with murder and attempted murder.

The incident that led to the 17-year-old’s arrest occurred in Jan. 2017, several months before he was taken into custody. Police say video footage showed a car registered to the mother of the teenager arriving at a scene just prior to a shooting. Police say that the footage shows the teen removing a rifle from the vehicle and walking from the street and then into an alley. Reports claims that he then opened fire on the two victims who were apparently in a vehicle.

One of the victims, a 29-year-old man, died a week after the shooting. The condition of the second victim is unclear. Reports indicate that more than one person was involved in the shooting.

Facing such serious charges at any age is intimidating but is likely especially so for such a young person. In order to fully understand all the elements of his case — including the charges that he faces as well as potential options for building his criminal defense — this Louisiana teenager may choose to seek advice from an experienced criminal defense attorney. Such a professional can help ensure that those facing criminal charges are prepared to make informed decisions about their cases.
