2 men charged for heroin and cocaine distribution

A two-month investigation into alleged drug activities preceded a drug raid that took place at a Louisiana home on Oct. 28. After searching the home outside Gonzales, Ascension Parish sheriff’s narcotics detectives took two men into custody on drug charges.

The 20-year-old and 23-year-old accused men were each booked on charges of distribution and possession with intent to distribute heroin and cocaine. A charge for unlawful carrying of weapons was also laid against each of the men, and the 23-year-old man received additional charges for possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana. The 20-year-old man is facing two additional charges for failing to appear in court.

During the search, detectives allegedly discovered cocaine, heroin and marijuana. A firearm and over $4,000 in cash were also reportedly seized. It is unclear what quantities the drugs were found in or what activities detectives may have witnessed over the course of the two-month investigation that led them to conduct the raid. Two days after the search and seizure, both of the men were still in custody at Ascension Parish Prison. There were no reports about whether or not the men were offered bail.
